Half Way Lou-Lou Boo-Boo

Uh... 6 months (tear)

I'm so in love with her age. I so loathe her age. It was just this time last year that I found out that I was having a girl. I'm a freak and what I lay awake at night thinking about is how fast my kids are growing up. I wish I didn't have so much to do all the time and I could just simply play. If it were up to me we'd have a baby farm, I'd never stop if I had my say. Well actually 2 right now is just perfect.

Miss Scottie is CRAWLING yes crawling. Army crawl always and every now and then when she thinks no one is watching she gets on all fours and really crawls. She love, love, loves food. She about bites the spoon off as we are feeding her. She was so petite for the longest time and now she has about 5 rolls on each leg and a 1-2 on each arm. The other day I was telling her she is getting some "junk in her trunk" and I think she developed an eating disorder for the day and decided to protest the bottle. Next day she was back to normal being a the "Tubo Trouble". It is amazing the nicknames we have came up with. Graidy calls her "Lou-Lou Boo-Boo" Brett calls her "Scottie Sweetness" and lately I've been calling her "Tubos".

She is so amazingly happy the only time she cries is seriously when she is hungry or if her brother decides to wrestle her. The other day I hear her start screaming and I go running and Graidy says "What!? I'm just telling her to tap-out!" No big deal, she's wrestling with him right?! Wow. But any other time he is her absolute favorite family member. If she is crying in the car, he will sing her to sleep. I takes about one line of Twinkle Little Star and she is out. I wish I had his luck. Another story from thing he told me last week was "Mom, Lou-Lou Boo-Boo told me to tell you that she wants me to read to her in my bed." I of course let him and the both loved it.

Everyone thinks their kid is beautiful but if you go to a city office and the secretary calls out everyone in their office just to see a baby. I think that means she is gorgeous.

Well... baby we are half way there. I'm such a boob but I cried then and I'll cry now. What am I going to do when she turns 16? I love you more than you will ever now. Elton says it best "How wonderful life is now that you're in the world."

New Year

New Years was a lot of fun. We first went to my niece Taylee's birthday party then over to a friends house for some great food and great fun.

Apparently last year I was to busy being pregnant that I didn't make any resolutions. I think if you are pregnant you can be exempt from having to make changes too many things are already changing in and around you. So this is what I wanted to for myself in 2020.

10 things I want to accomplish in 2010:

~~Buy a house.~~

Finish scrapbooks.

Finish School.

~~Loose weight and exercise more.~~

~~Take a vacation.~~

~~Read more books.~~

~~Finish craft projects.~~

Learn more on the guitar.

~~Enjoy life.~~

~~Maybe, just maybe add to the farm.~~

Well I'm batting 7 for 10. Not too bad, if I say so myself.

Looks like I should just shoot for 3 this year, I think that is pretty attainable since it took 2 years to do the last 10.

This year something I am going try and do is 2 different recipes a week. It has been fun and its nice not to get burnt out on the same old recipes. Only one so far as been a dud. I've always loved to cook and this is an excuse to get messy and make something I've never tried before.

I am also going to try and scrapbook at least one page per week. I love to digital scrapbook but I never seem to find the time to do what I really want to for my kids.

Weight loss is making the top 3. I get so sick when I am pregnant that I only gained 17 pounds my entire pregnancy with Scottlin, well sissy was 7 lbs alone and the rest was everything else. The day I got home I weighed the same as I did before I was pregnant. Well... needless to say I needed to loose weight before I was pregnant. In the past 3 months I've lost 15 pounds and it feels great. I am making way better choices for my diet and I am slowly working out more and more. I forgot how much I love be physically active. I'm happy I can keep up with my 2 and sometimes 3 kids.

A few of the things I'd like to keep doing. Reading, vacationing, the never ending craft projects, and I would love for Brett to teach me more on the guitar. I am going to keep doing but I wouldn't say I'd like to keep doing, is school. Busy busy busy people we are and I do just want to enjoy life just like I did in 2010.

Very Christmas!

This year Graidy said Very Christmas instead of Merry Christmas. Our Christmas was very Christmas-like. It has been a while since I've written Santa a letter, set out cookies for him, and sang "You Better Watch Out". We moved into our first home just 4 days before Christmas. Which in my mind was the perfect Christmas present for our family. It feels so good to finally be back into a routine, there is a place for everything, and everyone. Graidy had so much fun this year, it really is quite magical having child "believe".

We did a lot of fun things in December like going to a Grizzlies game, riding The Polar Express Train up in Midway, seeing the Zoo lights at Hogle Zoo, and well we moved!

Graiden's favorite toy was defiantly his Bey Blades he is obsessed. I have to hear all day long "Mom, wanna battle with me?" He sings the full theme song to the show and only uses the "Pegasus" one which does the "star blast attack!" Everyone else has to use the bad guy ones. At least he has his priorities in line. Scottlin's favorite has to be her lullaby Sea Horse she has slept with it every night since Christmas along with her Baby Alive doll every time she sees it she just screams at it like she is talking to her. My favorite toy was the Cricut Cake machine that Brett got me. His favorite was the fact that we are going to Arizona to see a Red Wings came in a couple weeks. When he opened his package of peanuts from me he wasn't to thrilled until I said "I think you'll need those on the plane for that Red Wings game in Arizona" He literally tackled me into a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, ouch.

The house is coming along, so far so good. I do love it out here in Eagle Mountain, so close to everything I need but far away from all the noise. The first night we were here Gray kept walking around saying "Look this floor! I need my friends in here to play!" which reminded me of the movie Step Brothers with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly when the make their beds into a bunk bed and they pace back and forth "Look at all of this floor space for activities and stuff!"

School started today, I really thought about taking the semester off, but I feel like I still have so far to go. "I think I can, I think I can." I got all registered and started, now I'm feeling a little excited about it, I know weird.

Calling All Super Heros!

Gray turned 3 November 17th. I just love this little guy, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't feel like ripping my hair out and laughing out load at the same time because of something he has said or done. He is such a big helper, great big brother, a lover and a comedian.

A few funny things just this past week:

1. Brett was telling him to quick being such a hassle. He said "DAD! I am not an ass hole!"

2. I was driving to my Brothers house when I got a text from his wife asking if I was coming I said "Shut-up Tina I'm down the street" out loud and Graidy followed that up with "Mom, you can't say bad words! Bad words are just for Daddies!

3. When he does have to go into time-out he screams "I hate this! I just hate it! I hate time-out!" then after he calms down "I want to be a happy boy and be nice to you!"

He is so in to superheroes right now so naturally we had a superhero themed party over at Noah's Place. I think everyone had fun! As usual picture overload!

Both Brett and I's Christmas presents came in the mail this week. I've held out and haven't opened my Cricut Cake Cutter. I doubt Brett can hold out on his new xbox. Looks like it will be an early Christmas for both of us :)

We blessed Scottlin Iris on November 6th. It was an amazing blessing. Her Grandpa Steve Johnson blessed her and Bishop Michael Woolley, Great-Grandpa Howard Johnson, Great-Grandpa Clair Webster, our friends Beau Graves, and Austin Brown where in the circle. Uncle Braxton was holding the microphone and he said she just kept grabbing it trying to eat it. We wouldn't know because she didn't make a peep the whole time. After words we had brunch at my Mom's house. We had a waffle/french toast bar with all of the fix-ins. It turned out lovely.

To have her blessed meant a lot to me. I have very high hopes for my children. I want from the beginning of their little lives to have the chance to do anything and everything their heart desires (with exception, of course). I want them to know that they can reach any goal or dream they set for themselves. I would hope they would be healthy, ambitious, smart, family oriented, successful, grounded, well liked... people. But whatever they choose to do in life, I just want in one word for them to be happy.

tricks or treats?

I feel like to pull off a successful holiday you either are tricking your self that it will all go smoothly or you have to do some amazing tricks to put it all together. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Scrooge I love holidays but since our family is ginormous it takes some serious effort.

This year we got pictures taken, had our Annual Halloween party with my Mom's family, kids got sick, went trick-or-treating, got into Halloween jammas, carved pumpkins and watched scary movies.

This year was probably the funnest year yet as far as Halloween goes. Graidy totally got the concept and was ready to get some treats and do any tricks he had to get them. Including becoming my "my biggest helper". We re-worded the Bob the Builder song and started singing "Can we clean it? Yes we can!" It totally worked, but he's to smart not to get rewarded too.

My friend over at Kelli West Photography took their pictures for Halloween (total stress reliever) and she did a contest and they tied for 1st place! I have some awesome friends and family who helped vote :)

The Halloween party is always a blast, the kids played BINGO, had a Scavanger Hunt, played the Doughnut Game, and did a Cake Walk. Graidy loves seeing all of his cousins and did not want them to leave.

As far trick-or-treating goes Graidy did not want to stop, would tell us "I need a break, I'll sit in the stroller" but by the very next house he was running up the to the door.

He is a very gaggy kid and does not like to have his hands dirty, he can be completely filthy but oh no not the hands! So he would say "Mom its okay to put my hand in the gooey stuff, right?" "Mom I'll just wash my hands in a minute" "Mom can I just have a wipe for my hands" Haha. At least he touched the stuff this year without having a heart attack.

Miss Scottie is 3 months old as of the 14th. Um.. I must mention she has two teeth cutting through!! She is the smiliest baby. Despite Brett and I's best efforts she won't laugh for us. Aunt Tina got her laughing the other day and I just about choked her, the next day Uncle Braxton got her laughing again someone had to hold me back from harming him as well. I swear she is doing it on purpose she knows that we'll act like lunatics for a laugh and it almost works everytime. I asked Graidy the other day while trying to do one of these acts if his Mommy was crazy. His reply: "No, your just an amazing superhero." Can I say typical?

My almost 3 year old Graidy wakes up just about every day and says the sun is out it is my birthday now. I keep saying its in a couple weeks and he keeps say in 3 hours. Everyday depending on what side of the bed he woke up on he is a differen't superhero. When he doesn't feel like talking he is a "mean guy" or Incredible Hulk. When he is cheerful he is you know the usual Batman, Spiderman, Ironman, Bumble Bee, Optimus, and so on. He takes these parts quite seriously too. He goes as far as yelling at you if you call him by the wrong name.

Everyone keeps asking about the house, most people don't understand that short-sales take um... FOREVER! But we are in the final stages and we expect to close at the end of the month. So we are almost home owners.

Brett did take me on the "B" date. It was awesome! We went shopping and finally found a Red Wings hat for him. I guess that part of the date was to make Big "B" smile. We went to one of our favorite restaurants Braza. Then we almost went to the shooting range. He was going for things that go bang. Who knew that on a week night the place says open until 8pm but on a Saturday they close at 6 pm? So the back up was things that say boo, and we went to a haunted house. We both kind of thought it would probably be funner with a group, but in all reality you get scared so much worse when there is only two of you.

Triple Threat Kind of Girl

So... you might remember if you actually read my blog that a few posts back Brett and I were going to start ABC dating. We'll I naturally assigned Brett the letter "A" and I patiently waited weeks for him to do something with the letter "A" so I took charge (naturally). I surprised Brett with what I was calling the AAA.

A1: "A" Massage (not very cleaver I know but they were 2 for $25 at the school today)

A2: "A"sian food at China Lily (yum)

A3: "A"ss cream which is really ice cream we just call it ass cream in our house because Graidy says it that way and we think it is hilarious.

Brett acted like he had so much fun, and I'm excited to see what Big B has planned for the letter "B". I just love him and I think he loves me a little too.

Us 2005 skipping high school to go golfing. I have "G" maybe we'll have to play hooky and go again.

How Many Minutes in a Year

10 years ago I was in 7th grade.

10 years ago I was in Miss Taylor's choir class.

10 years ago the World Trade Centers fell under attack.

It is so amazing that 10 years have past. I remember not understanding what was going on, how it could happen, or the importance of it all. I was so far away from it all but I think it hit home for everyone young and old. I hope we never forget that day, and remember the importance of the men and women that fight for our freedoms. I'm not a very political person, but I am patriotic.

We did a benefit concert soon after and sang this song from the broadway play RENT. I listen to this song often and it explains how fragile life is. Please listen to it, it is so perfect for the occasion.

Seasons of Love

Preschool and New Endeavors.

Graidy started preschool a couple Thursday's ago which made me feel super duper old. Its just one day a week for two hours. Since they are two year olds its kind of glorified nursery and I have a feeling he might be a little to advanced for it and might get bored. You all know I am usually a little sappy about my kids growing up and not spending enough time with them, etc. But let me tell you, Target is also a glorified experience without a toddler. I felt so free on Thursday having 2 hours to my self to do whatever the hell I wanted. Amazing. I think I might get a pedicure next Thursday.

Every time we'd get him to smile and say cheese we'd take the picture and he'd get back to being distracted by the candy machine. All well, still cute with his "Graidy is Special" hat.

That was Graids new endeavor and now this is mine. I'm officially not going back to work, well technically not going back to work. I won't be returning to work at a dental office, I should say. I had the most amazing opportunity fall into my lap a couple weeks ago. I was really having a nervous break down about returning to work. I loved my job as a Dental Assistant but in all reality I wouldn't be able handle putting my kids in daycare. When I first put G in I cried every day on the way to work for about a month, he was 2, how would I react with a 2 month old? Also its hard to make enough money to make it worth putting two kids in day care.

So... I am going to be a Nanny for the cutest little boy named Kylan. I really lucked into the job and I know the family. It is my Brother Mitch's girlfriend Brooke's nephew. (Try and say that 5 times fast) I only have him every other week for about 60 hours a week. I make almost the same out amount of money working 30 hrs. a week at the dental office and I don't have to pay for child care and I get my kids all day every day! It's really not to hard to add one more two year old into the mix. Graidy and Kylan play really good together and keep each other entertained most of the day. Yesterday was the 4th day we had Kylan and Graidy started to get his nose pushed in a bit when Kylan called me Mamma (which he calls pretty much everyone Mama) Graidy yelled at him and said "No Kylan that is not your Mamma, your Mamma is at work!" That is my Kiley Mommy, not yours, OK!" I feel kind of bad that he went from an only child to practically having 2 siblings in a matter of 2 months. But I've tried to make sure and have one on one time with him every night. We had about a 1/2 hour conversation a couple nights ago that went like this.

"Mom, Dad has toe jam and hairy toes."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, its pretty gross. You need to build a new Iron Man machine because Dad broke the thing that you put your toes in to put on your purple suit." (I'm assuming the machine that Tony Stark suits up in).

"He broke it?" How did Dad break it?

"He sat on it with his bum." His bum had poop on it. He pooped in his underwears. (notice the plural underwear) Teehee Teehee.

Then I just bursted into laughter. His Dad has gross toe jam and poop in his underwears. I also love that you can tell he jumps from one subject to the next just like the Bing commercials with just a key word.

It doesn't matter what the age is boys just think poop is funny.Graidy had an accident last night and Brett couldn't keep a serious face to save his life. "There is a turd in his underwear, Mwahaha." Really?! Can't we just let him know its not good to poop in your pants and be on our way?

Now for Miss Scottie's endeavor. She will be going to Lake Powell for the first time next week. Lets hope she is a water baby just like her brother. The whole family is counting down the seconds until we depart. It will be the last hurrah of the summer. She will be 2 months on Wednesday and she is so so smiley! If you just talk to her for a couple seconds a huge smile appears! She has been smiling since she was 5 weeks which seems so early to me. Graidy didn't get the smiling thing down until after 2 months. She ROLLS over! She is trying to giggle and she jibber jabbers. I have a feeling she might be a loud mouth like her Mamma.

Both kids have proven to get a smile on camera is hard to do. She's been smiling for so long but I haven't been able to get a good shot. Still adorable, right?!

I wish I could write more about Brett. But he just works, works, golfs, works, works, golfs. Yeah, nothing new with him. But I just have to say how much I appreciate my husband. He can work 70 hours a week at his job and still come home and be happy and full of energy for his kids. He really truly is an amazing Daddy and husband. We were talking the other day about how no one ever sees the nasty, gushy, in-love, us. They only see our bikerments (which most say it wouldn't be us with out it) which would probably cause most to believe we wouldn't make it as a couple. But I told him I was going to work on allowing/accepting his affection in front of people because I've come to realize that, that is an amazing quality to have in a husband and I should cherish it.

stupid questions

Okay so my favorite blog has to be Rants From Mommyland, I love it. It is a tad vulgar but absolutely hilarious and true. This post hit close to home. Brett and I were talking a couple weeks ago about the stupid questions people ask you when you've just had a baby and they are asked over and over again. If you haven't had a baby lately let me jog your memory. Don't get offened if you asked me one of these, I'm not calling anyone out. I'm sure I'm guilty of doing the same. I'm just sick of giving the same "Here's Your Sign" answers.

Here are the questions and answers I'd LIKE to give.

Q: "Are you getting any sleep?"

A: "Hell no, don't you see these enormous bags that are placed perfectly under my eyes"

Q: "Is the baby sleeping through the night?"

A: "You've got to be freaking kidding me, you're joking right?!" No, the baby is not sleeping through the night! She's a week old.

Q: "Are you breast feeding?" (I don't think this is too personal by any means its just a crappy question to ask because the person just might not like the answer they're going to get.)

A: "Yes"

Q: "Don't you just love it? It is such an amazing experience isn't it?

A: "No sorry I don't and it isn't." You know what I'm not sorry. Want to know why, my 2 year old is way to smart for his own good. He knows that if I'm feeding the baby he can run around like a lunatic for the whole 30 minutes it takes her to eat. The house is destroyed before I can udder the word boob."

A: "No"

Q: "Oh, well that is your decision and isn't not for everyone." (I know as the fake words come out of their mouths they are thinking in their heads that they should give me the terrible mother award for the year.)

Okay so there was my rant. I feel better. I think 3 examples will do.

one month & newborns

This little baby of mine is one month old already (yesterday).

I don't want to miss a minute of Graiden or Scottlin's life. For some stupid reason I had it in my head that things would go slower this time around, since I knew how fast it went before with Gray. I'd take special precautions this time, to not feel like I missed anything. Well I haven't been away from the babe for longer than 10 min in the past month and I found my self whimpering at every thought yesterday of her growing up. I know growing up? Well... one month is going to turn in to one year before I know it. So don't judge me.

On a not so depressing/crazy mamma note. She is getting bigger and more lovely every as the days go on. She is just beautiful to me, and everyone keeps asking who she looks like. My mom says she looks a lot like me which makes me happy since when G was born he didn't look a thing like me, just Brett. My brother Tyler said "Well he looks like you when you cry." Why do your kids have to look like anyone? The're themselves, yes features may manifest that look like a certain parent or relative. But at this point I think she just looks like Scottie. I still can't believe I have this little thing to dress in pink. Yesterday I bought her a boy are outfit at Gap to wear to her brothers 3rd birthday party, I'll spruce it up with a bow.

Well... we just took a turn back to crazy mamma, but yes I am already planning Graidy's birthday party that won't be until November. It's going to be super hero themed. Since he told me today "I'm not Graidy mom, I'm Tony Stark!" (Iron Man) He goes around all day flying, shooting, jumping around like a little super hero. When I say "no" to him he holds his hand up like Iron Man or Spiderman and shoots me and runs off. If I shoot him back it just makes him even more mad. Needless to say I am super excited to plan the party. I've already got a whole folder of ideas. Plus William Sonoma just came out with a limited edition Marvel Hero cookie cutter and bake sets.

We have our first date night planned for this Thursday... Brett and my Dad are huge blues fans, so naturally that was everyones Father's Day presents were to go to the B.B. King concert. It will be fun to go out, but a little nerve wrecking since I haven't left the babe yet. We've decided that we have to go out for a Date night at least once a week, if not I'm afraid we'll completely loose site of our relationship between work and kids, there isn't much time for US. So... we have a new plan we are going to start "ABC" dating. We are going to take turns planning our dates each week starting with a different letter. Not sure what it is going to be next week because I assinged Brett letter "A". I'm thinking batting cages for "B". I can't take credit for this idea, I read about it in a magazine and I'm super excited to do it, I'm pretty sure Brett actually is too!

I think this one is my favorite of the kids, since we took her pictures at only 4 days old this was actually the first time Gray held Scottie. I love how his thumb is placed and he is just checking her out, and his smile is so candid. To me some of the best pictures are the ones that aren't possed.

I think this one (below) looks the most like her in real life. Most pictures that have been taken of her she looks really scrunched up and chubby. But really she is quite tiny and delicate. Her hospital pictures don't look anything like her then or now. Funny how that happens.

potty trained

This kid is officially potty trained! It only took a bag a DUM DUMS. We've been toying with the idea of getting G potty trained for a while now and he would go here and there. Last week we got serious, no more diapers, just "big kid" underwear. Every day he has to show me who is on his butt, and his favorite is spiderman. He has only had 1 accident since last Tuesday I'm not the type that can do major clean up so I just threw the underwear away. He talks about it every day "Captain America is gone because I pooped on him?" I think he's afraid of loosing any more friends from pooping on them... I think little boys just look so damn cute in underwear.

So nice to know I only have to change one little cute butt and no more "big kid" butts. Only problem is how do I get clothes back on him? We have only made on venture out of the house and it terrifies me to take him out.

I decided to go ahead and be induced. It was so fun to wake up in the morning and know for a fact you were getting a baby that day... We are so in love!

Two kids isn't as much of an adjustment as I thought it would be. Graiden is such a good big brother and he has been listening really well and is always helpful. But, I don't have much time to be anything but a mommy, I wouldn't have it any other way either. So birth story will have to come later.

So I'll have to admit I've been so unbelievably naive this pregnancy. For some odd reason I've had a stick up my butt thinking I'm all high and mighty because I had Graidy "all natural". Now to back track a little to go "all natural" was never the in the birth plan with G, I just happen to have him super quick and didn't have time for anything else. With him I really didn't have an opinion on how to have a baby I just went with what my doctor and other family members suggested/did.

I came in to this second pregnancy with a whole I'm a "Super Mom" attitude and I am going to have this next baby natural too. I did it once, I can do it again, right?? I've had a my birth plan set. Well now that I've been having dead end contractions and been at a 3 for over a week now, I'm starting to change my feelings/thoughts on this whole deal. I'm absolutely miserable, and I've been told I can be induced on the 14th. I have to give them my answer by 5 today if I want to be put on the schedule.

I've researched and researched the pros and cons of being started. You have a way higher chance of having a c-section. I've thought that you shouldn't have pitocin unless your water has already broken and your body isn't contracting. I'm not exactly the "greenest/natural" person around but I hate taking any kind of drug and I hate giving drugs to my kids. These things really have started to not matter now that I'm in this state. I really hate to think that I am being selfish and putting my self first. But I really think I'm okay with Scottlin's birthday being July 14th. I'm most worried about looking like a complete hypocrite and brat for having such strong opinions on all these things and now I'm about ready to go back on my words. Please don't judge me?!

I've always been a decision maker and I rarely regret any decisions I make. This has been so unbelievably hard for me. I've never had such a problem with such a thing. I'm absolutely a control freak and the one time I'm allowed to be in control I'm not so sure I want to be. It is what it is and I have a really good feeling about getting put on the schedule for Thursday. I can always not show up if I change my mind by then right?

So since I've had no time lately to blog I've been blogging a little bit at a time and letting blogger save my drafts. I've just had a thought here and there and I'd hurry and type it up and click save. I was just about finished with probably the longest post ever when I (lap top illiterate) dragged the mouse over the whole post with my palm and deleted it. Then since blogger is so great at auto saving it saved then the computer shut down. I lost the whole damn thing. This incident inspired me to buy a much needed new computer. Did I mention its a MAC? I'm in love.

Well I'll just do the brief version of what I had been writing for the past hm... 2 months. The title of this post is numbers for a reason. I had written full paragraphs about each of these things. This will have to do.

1. I celebrated my 22 birthday on May 20th.

2. We had our 3rd year anniversary on May 30th.

3. We went to 2 supercross races (Graidy went crazy) one in Salt Lake and one in Vegas.

4. We welcomed my new niece Audrey in May and my new nephew Tripp in June. They both have me brimming with excitement for my little one.

5. I had 2 baby showers. (I got totally spoiled, they each deserve a post of their own)

6. We went to Lake Powell.

7. We put an offer in on a house in Eagle Mountain! (Short sale, seller accepted offer, waiting on bank)

8. I had my 38 week check up today. So only 2 weeks to go give or take.

9. Dialted to a 3.

10. I'm finally done with work, and I'm so thrilled to spend so time with Graid.

So since I don't have then energy there is 10 things that have been exciting in my life in the past 2 months. I do want to go into detail about the Bebe and G.

Bebe Update:

Tuesday night we had a false alarm I started contracting like crazy and because of my previous delivery (read story here) we rushed to the hospital. I was there for about an hour when the baby's heart rated did a scary little drop, so the kept me there for another 3 hours. I kept contracting the whole time but made no change in my cervix which was a 3 at the time. So they asked if I wanted to stay and be started or go home and labor naturally. I picked naturally, went home slept and then woke up to a whole lot of nothing. I've been miserable the past couple days but looks like she is being stubborn now. I feel pretty prepared, but then again I'm freaked out to have a 2nd child around. I'm so worried that I won't get Graidy the attention he needs. I've gotten so many pretty little pink and purple things and I'm so excited to throw a bow on a little girls head. Lets just hope she makes her debut sooner than later :)

Graidy the "Big Kid" Update:

I know I say this every time but this kid totally cracks me up. I've always called him Graidy Baby lately he's been yelling at me saying "No mommy, I'm a big kid!"

He's is absolutely positively obsessed with motocross and all of the racers involved. We went to stay with my dad this last weekend. There my step mom has set up a really cute "grand kid room" which is nautical themed and she found the cutest pottery barn sail boat toddler beds. When I asked G if he was going to sleep in his bed he said "Umm... No (while pointing at each bed) that one is Villopotto's bed and that one is Dungey's bed". Later I walked in on him talking on a play phone saying "Hi, Villopotto. Hi, Dungey. What? You guys want me to go to the races with you? Oh, I'm sorry I can't I'm still at Papa Bart's house."

Last year he was scared of the fireworks and he didn't forget this year. So when my cousins were over they had bought a few fireworks and Graidy threw a little fit about how he was scared and that he didn't want to watch them so I took him in the house got his p.j.'s on and started to call it a night. He then came out of his room with one of his motorcycles and he said to me "Mom, Kevin Windam isn't scared of the fireworks he wants to go watch them." Sure enough he had the #15 Kevin Windam bike and we had to take Kevin out side. He would hold the motorcycle out and say "See Kevin it's not scary, its cool." He just mothered the toy just like had tried 15 minutes prior.

The number one thing I like to eat this pregnancy is nasty cereal. Last night Graidy and I got in a fight at the grocery store over if we were going to get Trix or Lucky Charms, I gave in and got both and then a couple more boxes. When I got home Brett asked "Whoa was there a sale on cereal or something?" Me being pregnant just got super annoyed and snapped back "NO, its the only thing that sounds good." I'm kind of worried about my eating habits this time around, with G I craved wholesome foods and lots of veggies. This time I want ice cream or sugary cereal? We'll see how my glucose test goes next week wouldn't be surprised if I'll be banned from eating both. I haven't gained much weight I'm 26 weeks tomorrow and have gained a total of 4 pounds. Now I had some weight to loose so I suppose I'm loosing my ass and gaining a belly. Good enough for me.

Graidy is doing really well, he makes me happy every day of my life. I think (which everyone does think of their kids) he is the funniest, cutest, smartest, little (big) 2 year old around. Yesterday he had me kiss James "Bubba" Stewart good morning and then after that he was saying "Bubba hold on tight" as he was jumping the motorcycle over the couch. He is all boy, we play gasketball sometimes basketball probably 2 hours per day. He just picked up baseball thanks to his cousin Allie and is obsessed with motorcycles. We can't wait for supercross in a couple weeks.

Now as far as Brett goes, he has terrible hair. He won't cut it. He knows its atrocious. I can't stand to think that his first pictures with is daughter with be with that curly mop on his head. He told me the other day he would cut it for a pair of Toms shoes. What? Really, Brett wants Toms? I want Toms! Can he really pull of Toms? I'm just hoping Toms sizing doesn't go up to 14 in mens. But I love him so I'll let him keep the mop until hmm... July then its gone!

As for me, I am loving my new job. It is really hard right now to be a full time mom, student, and employee. But only 2 more weeks of school and I'm off for summer! I never thought Dental Assisting would be so tiring on my back. Everyone keeps asking me if I am going back after the bambino, well yeah I am I need a job. But I wish there was an other alternative, I can't stand to think I might have 2 kids in daycare. hmm... What are my options?

Last but not least: I think we've decided on a name... Scottlin Iris we will call her Scottie for short and Iris is my middle name and my Grandma Great's name. It took some convincing for Brett, you know because Scottie is a boy name. I'm still open minded to a name change but nothing else has stuck for either of us. So Baby Scottie it is.

I always have thought if a kid isn't eating then let them starve. If they don't want to eat at the dinner table when everyone else is then they can go with out dinner. I can't believe what I just did...

Graidy wouldn't eat his spaghetti tonight. We tried putting him in time out, telling him he would have to go to bed if he didn't eat, and told him we'd take the "gasket ball" hoop away. None of that worked, I had to get creative. I seriously just let him eat his spaghetti off of the side of his chair with his hands, as I called him a little monkey. He thought it was hilarious and ate everything in his bowl including the 2 meat balls. Brett just sat back wide eyed, and didn't dare interrupt this circus show I was just performing to get a 2 year old to eat. It worked right? But am I going to have to put on a show at every meal? I think I just became Ralphie and Randy's mother in The Christmas Story...

He has always been a great eater, what is the deal? Any suggestions moms out there to get kids to eat??

Holidays & Our Big News...

Its kind of hard to blog about things that happened over a month ago. Maybe I'm a slacker, maybe I'm just super busy like the rest of the world. Usually winter slows way down for us and we can catch up on things around our house. This winter is just plain weird. We are both working a lot, we are both taking 8 college credits, and our family is growing at a rapid rate...

Christmas was hard this year, we had a flood and so Graidy's entire room had to come out into our living room. Having a bunk bed in front room for a month is no bueno. I had no clue that my 2 year old had so much stuff! It made me feel like I moved all over again. We made things work and had a very nice Christmas. Graidy got his "cycle bike" and was spoiled rotten from his grandparents of course. This year was the first year he really got into it. He would grab a present and say "Ohhhh Man!" then when he opened it he would say something like "COOL" and then of course toss it right over his shoulder and move on to the next one.

New Years was a blast a few of my siblings rented a cabin up by my dads house and we just ate good food, and sledded a whole bunch. Graidy asks me about on a daily basis "We go sledding?" The kid is a dare devil if you didn't know... I think Brett would move up there in a heart beat he loves how much snow they get. I felt really old this year, it was so hard to stay awake until midnight, then the martinelli's sparkling cider just gave me killer heart burn.

Now that you've had a big update on our holiday festivities I introduce you to our baby GIRL!!

Isn't she cute?? Now this is where I start to feel bad I'm officially 16 weeks and I'm just barely blogging that I'm even pregnant. I wanted to be one of those cute girls (like all of my friends that blog) and do a cool count down, a really fun announcement, and probably a poll to see if you all think I'm having a boy or girl. Well when it comes to your second things just change! Not that it isn't any more special than your first, its actually been a very different, but more rewarding process this time around.

We tried for quite a while and the funny thing once you stop stressing about it, it happens! I for some wierdo reason didn't want to tell anyone, not anyone! I found out when I was only 3 weeks and had an ear infection. I work with my sister in law Tina and this girl has intuition (did I mention she is only 3 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy) "Kiley, I know your pregnant just have them do the test when you go in!" I totally wanted to just shrug her off, get my antibiotic and be done with it. Then at the end of the appointment when I was being dismissed I asked if I could take one, and what do you know?? POSITIVE. A very interesting conversation with Brett soon followed. For our typical marriage we got in a "bickerment" as I call them on my way to the office. So I called him back after I was done and we said the usual...

"You done being a prick?" -K

"Yeah you done?" -B

"We'll the due date is July 25th" -K

"What in the hell are you talking about?" -B

"You know the due date?" -K

"Your kidding! That is awesome!" -B Then he started rambling on about how far apart they will be and if they will be in school together and all those other cute things.

It was so surreal. But as I said before I didn't want to tell anyone... A few figured it out, some of those few spilled the beans, but the crazy thing is we were able to keep it from our siblings and our parents. So on Christmas Eve we told each of them with giving them a gift from Graidy. I made these magnet boards and put a picture of the sonogram, and the picture below on it. People were in shock, they kept asking now did you know about this at G's party? Remember when... you were pregnant then? and so on. It was a really fun Christmas gift to give everyone.

I'm already having a nervous break down about redoing a nursery. My crib and baby dresser are black and I don't want to do hot pink and black, not that it isn't cute, I just want something different. Pottery Barn has a really cute black and purple nursery set right now. My mom has some old fashioned fabric that she picked up at a yard sale that I've had my eye on, and she finally submitted and said she would make a quilt out of it. She has whole bunch of yo-yo's already made. They are in all sorts of colors, pink, blue, orange, yellow, and minty green. I think this is more of what I am shooting for, not so matchy matchy. But we will see...

Now for an update on the boys... They both were pretty sad about the out come of yesterdays big game. Brett even changed his shirt during the 4th quarter.

Brett has been working an unusual amount for how cold it has been. It looks like around March 1st he'll get finally transfered from Beck St. to closer to home. Things are finally looking up and the economy doesn't have to kiss my you know what lately. We have saved a good amount of money living with my grandma and will hopefully buy a house this spring or summer. Graidy is getting funnier and more controlling by the minute. He has been using the toilet more and more and the other day in the car he happened to dropped deuce, he started screaming that...

"my cheeks hurt!" -G

"cheeks?" -K

"yeah, my butt cheeks!" -G

Now for the controlling part, not that I always let my 2 year old boss me around, sometimes it is just funny. This morning he wanted cereal for breakfast, so in return I had to have cereal for breakfast. He told me where to sit and where to put my apple juice and bowl. Then he said "drink your milk mom." So together we had to lift our bowls to our lips and drink the milk together. Then we could start eating again. It was like I was his shadow. I have plenty of more stories about this but this one just happened to happen today. I have no clue who he gets it from, hmm...

Don't you think he could be a gap model, yeah me too.

We'll hopefully I start blogging more often, it is kind of therapeutic.

Graidy Turns Two!

November 17, 2010 Graidy woke up and decided he was a 2 year old. He was super ornery and decided to get into everything and anything, not take a nap, and make is Mama cry at McDonald's when he wouldn't get in his car seat. You would think he didn't know it was his birthday! Since he didn't take a nap that day he almost fell asleep on his way to his own party (go figure) but by 6:00 he was running around the club house having a blast with his friends and cousins. I'm so blessed to have this little guy in my life and I can't believe how fast 2 years goes by. Believe it or not but his 2nd birthday wasn't all that emotional for me, I'm happy he is 2 and growing up :)

This year he had a carnival themed party and I think it turned out way cute!

My Mom made the banner and I have to say it is my favorite thing of the whole party!

For the food we did hot dogs, nochos, and all the fixins!

I made a photo booth but wasn't very proactive about getting everyones picture in it but here are a few that turned out way cute!

He got spoiled as usual:

The party was a blast I got from one of the kids "This is the best party ever!" and an other said "I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight!". I loved this party and I love even more that its all over! For the invite and most of the decorations I used a scrapbook kit by Jennifer Barrett and Shalin Studio you find it at Sweet Shoppe Studio. I got a lot of my ideas from Kara's Party Ideas, I visit this blog just about every day.

Couple of New Things:

He tells everyone whose things are whos "That's Brett's hat!" "That's Mama's drink!" "Mine, Graidy's!" For example yesterday my Aunt Sues was patting him on the bum and he yelled at her "Mine, Graidy's spank you!" and swatted her had away. Almost everything is Graidy's and he'll let you know it.

He only calls Brett "Dad or Daddy" on really rare occasions most of the time he is just Brett. Brett got him calling me Kiley yesterday so we'll see how this goes.

He likes to pretend he is a baby, and when we are out he will pass back and forth between us saying "Mama hold you." then to "Brett hold you."

He says "That's amazing" and "Excuse me" and he can form pretty much a whole sentence. He can count to 10 and sing his ABC's to about H. He also sings the "Clean Up" song when I clean the house. He's a pretty smart little bugger and I love him!

I don't know how I'm going to choose!

We just got our family pictures done today and can't wait to start making the cards! Last time we got our pictures taken we couldn't keep Graidy out of the lake, this time we took them at the Harley Davidson shop and we couldn't keep the little guy away from the "cycles". As I've said before I love my photographer and I'm confident we got some good pictures! (even though we were freezing)

Lately I've been making my own announcements and greeting cards but this sounds like I'll have a break! I can't wait to pick out the card :)

For the entire month of October and now November... My little almost 2 year old Gray thinks he is a dragon or a monster! He talks about it in the car, in stores, and apparently at daycare.

I couldn't stop laughing, and did I mention he does this in a scary voice? It's hilarious! It all started when I picked up his Halloween costume, he's still young enough to not pick it out himself. I figured he'd "perform" the best in dragon costume, because he likes to run around and say he is a monster all the time. I picked up the costume a bit to early I think because he would push his rocking chair over into his closet and get down the costume all the time and "I scare him" (even if its me). Almost 2 year olds are so much fun! He is just way to funny, and I love his personality right now, he reminds me so much of Brett and he is already teasing me and playing jokes on me every day. This morning he woke up came out of his room and said to me "What's up, Dude?"

For Halloween this year we did the usual, went to the pumpkin patch, got Krispy Kremes, carved pumpkins, went trick or treating, and had a Halloween party it was really fun!

Did you see the word daycare up at the top? Yep that is right I took my almost 2 year old to daycare for the first time 3 weeks ago. I was so worried about it, but the little guy loves it and I love it! Every time I walk into the place they are cleaning something and the are teaching them things and have a white board and the write down every time they change a diaper! What is best of all is they can get 15 2 year olds to all take a nap at the same time!! They are amazing over there at Lollipop Daycare and I'm really glad that I found such a great place :)

In other news: I keep saying almost 2 year old because G-Money is turning two next Wednesday! I hate that I'm such a baby about it but I seriously get anxiety over it! I feel like my life is going by way to fast! Last year I asked a co-worker that had a son about the same age if she did okay with him turning 1 and she said to me "stupid stuff like that doesn't bother me" I almost gasped! What? Stupid? My baby boy not being a baby isn't stupid, its nervous breakdown material!

First of all loving the OCTOBER weather! It is perfect temperature, don't you think? But sadly it is still October and Summer is coming to an end :( Don't get me wrong I love, love, love all of the seasons, but this was the first Summer I haven't worked up at the lake and I've actually gotten to do Summer "things". It has been so much fun this year with our little family, and I can't wait for more to come...

We went to Lake Powell a couple weekends ago with my brother and his family, and my cousin and his family. Sooooo much fun! Dad let us take one of his boats and we just camped out and had a blast, wakeboarding, tubing, fishing, and I even attempted to para-sail (didn't end well)! I ended up with my whole left side scrapped and bruised and G ended up with double ear aches, damn the wind!

We went to a place called Defiance House it was so cool! It was 3 houses built on top of and inside the rocks. This has to be called Defiance House because these people defied all odds by living there. Of course no pictures of Brett and I together...

This week has been awesome! I've gotten all caught up on school, work, unpacking, and I've been able to spend some quality time with my little man! We are loving the new place, Graidy has a really nice fenced back yard where he can ride his "jeep" to his heart content, and a big room for all of his toys! I thought for sure it would take some adjusting but he has slept really good in his new room. Here at the new place we don't have a bath, which I am not above bathing a little boy in the kitchen sink, but this 22 month old loves taking showers by him self!

I've started planning his 2nd birthday party already, I'm psychotic, I know! But I've decided I don't have to much to look forward to in life besides spoiling Graiden so why not? Here is a sneak peak...

P.S. I'm brimming with excitement for Halloween it has to be my favorite holiday besides Christmas! I just watched a home video of last year, Graid was CRAWLING! What?! When did he stop doing that? Life is going by way to fast for me, I wish another babe was in the cards for us right now, but I'm super happy and content with my Graidy Monster.

We's be moving!

~~I've~~ We've decided to move back to Mapleton in my Grandma's basement apartment. On the tip top of my New Years resolution list I put down that I wanted to buy a house this year. We'll thats not going to happen, but if we move in with my Grandma at a discounted rate we'll save $700 per month!!! Can you believe that?! I think I'll have a down payment for a house in no time...

P.s. I secretly love moving because I get to throw away junk and organize to my hearts content :)

P.p.s. Brett might get a new job where he is gone 8 days and home 6 days so I think it will be nice to have another adult around when he's gone...

Revoir Family and Friends Reunion 2010

This year it was my Mom's year to plan our family reunion, she did an awesome job planning it and we all had a great time! We stayed in the cutest little cabin, I wish I would have gotten a picture! We mainly swam in the pool all weekend, but we also saw Arches National Park, went swimming/cliff jumping in the Colorado River, and four-wheeling. We had a blast and it was a much awaited vacation.

So we got our family pictures taken about a month ago. I loved the idea of doing the pictures by the lake... Go idea in theory, bad idea in reality with my water baby. The entire time he was saying "boat", "beach", "water" and if we were holding him it was "I stuck!" Never the less we got some amazing shots and like I said before I love my photographer...

I think I'm going to start doing some labels on this blog, no Graidy wont be one of them, because I'll have to tag every single post. But I think I just might start a series of funny things my husband says to me. Funny to me, not so funny to others I'm sure.

Since we are taking the same classes this semester and we only have on computer we take turns doing our assignments. When we take turns he plays video games and I catch up on shows he hates. Well last night we had a huge project and 10 page paper to write by about 1:00 am we were delirious and everything is funny at this point. (besides the fact that I have no idea how to write a 10 page paper on the BYU art museum) Did I mention we both had to be up at 5 and 6 for work?

"Ky, you know whats pathetic?"

"I day dream about getting a nuke." (Gamer Lingo)

"What a loser."

I couldn't hold back, I started laughing, then crying...

"Some people dream and espire to be musicinans, rocket scientsist, I just want a nuke, dammit!"

On an other note check out Robin Williams' stand-up, we red boxed it this weekend. Hilarious, but extremely, tremendously, exceedingly, some what exceptionally crude! So if you have virgin ears don't even think about renting it.

3 day bliss

I loved that the 4Th was on Sunday this year and that I live in this crazy state that people either celebrated it Saturday or Monday... Usual fashion we celebrated all 3 days!

Saturday we hosted a family BBQ at my house with my Moms family and all of Brett's family. Then we went and watched the Stadium of Fire fireworks in Provo with friends. Sunday we played in the pool all day then went over to a friends house for a BBQ and fireworks. Monday we both had the day off so we decided to take G to Shrek 4 (he loved it, Brett was a little hesitant about taking him, he only made a peep when he wanted some more "popcurn"), swam, and lit some more fireworks. Busy but the fun never stopped and it was awesome weekend! I love summer, and I love that I'm not working right through it, this is the first year in well years that I've been able to enjoy summer. It has been amazing.

How many of you would be interest in this?

I do glitter toes and my Mother in-Law is a massage therapist. We are where thinking of doing parties for girls in groups of about 5! The price would be $30 for a full set of glitter toes and a massage or you can just choose one or the other. We would also provide the invitations.

Here is a picture of some I did yesterday, so festive!

Your savings on glitter toes would be $15 based on salon prices and who can beat a $15 massage?

P.s. If you are not interested in a party but would like to get glitter toes I am totally available!

An as usual belated Fathers Day post...

For Fathers Day Brett and his dad did the usual golfing in the morning. Then we went over to my sisters house for BBQ to see my dad. Then last but not least we went to my Mom and Step Dad's house for card games. It was a pretty relaxed and fun day!

In my best efforts to get this family on the right track to eat better...

We decided to return our redbox the typical 3 days late to the local Holiday gas station. I warned Brett to just return the damn movie and not to buy anything else. Well with a 32oz coke and a matador(beef jerky) in hand Brett gets into the car and says...

"Kiley beef jerky is like a multi-vitamin for men."

Then my hilarious husband proceeds to tell me...

"There are only 2 food groups for men, small game and big game."

Where does he come up with this stuff?! Needless to say it was hard for me to keep a straight face and I got over his bad choices at the gas station.

Well I'm not doing it, but Brett sure is. I'm all up for having different hobbies but come on! If you have to play a video game every single day of your life or you start having withdraws then there is a problem. Does everyone know what XBOX live is? Well its gaming from the console online with friends/strangers. Its so you can play with someone else but everyone can stay at their own homes on their own couches. Pretty convenient right? Not at my house (see picture below, yes that is 3 t.v.'s in my living room).It is not uncommon for me to be dealing with this on a nightly basis. It would be one thing if we had a bigger house with a family room in a basement or what not. I seriously think we would be perfect guests on Marriage Ref on NBC.

My response to these "boys" is "Isn't the basis of XBOX lives appeal to be able to play at your OWN homes?"

Sucking air is what my dad would call our current situation...

I'm not usually okay with "downer" posts, but hey I felt like it, and its my blog and I can do what I want! Haha. This year has been such a whirl wind for us! Here is a little update and rant for you...

It all started with not going back to Jordanelle for my 7th season. Such a bittersweet thing I have had such a love/hate relationship with that place for a while there I called it JordanHELL. But once you've been apart of something that long I can't help but be terribly sad about not going back to my second home on the lake. I'm really sad that this didn't work out for my parents but I am really happy for them at the same time. They get to get their lives back.

I got a great opportunity to start working at a dental office this past year as a Dental Assistant (since that is what I went to school for 4 years ago). I've really loved working with my sister in-law Tina, a great Doctor, and other awesome girls. Recently the Doctor that I've been working for sold his practice and today I got to work with my new boss. My new boss is really nice, it will just take some time to get use to each other. My old boss was such a great guy and I'm going to miss him.

Brett has been with is company for 4 seasons now, and we always expect a lay off in the winter due to weather conditions. It is usually about 3 months, which in all honesty I love it! No worrying about getting holidays off and just being able to spend a lot of quality time. It was the best when Graidy was born in November because Brett was home with me the first 3 months. We always save our money to make it through the winter and we seem to do pretty good. Well note the date June 14th, Brett is back to work but not full time. WTF!? This is where the sucking air comes into place. It is no longer that 3 month grace period of a lay off. Pardon my French but this economy can officially kiss my ass! Thats what you get for working construction though, right?

So we are fixing that, by going to SLCC! We are both going part time, our classes include Humanities, Economics, and my personal favorite Bowling(P.E. Credit)! We decided that we would take an "easier" schedule for summer, hasn't turned out to be to easy. Brett hasn't quite decided what he wants to do, I'm just happy he is going! I feel like I've been going to school forever and I really haven't done much! I've been pretty split on what I want to do. I think I've finally narrowed it down to accounting! Just one more English class and I can start my accounting classes. I also am going to take my final in 2 weeks for my Medical Transcription so I can start working more from home. Brett has a few job interviews this week, pray for him, wish him luck, and lets just hope he hooks and sinks!

See that green capped picture above that is a picture of 1% milk which in my opinion is a waste of money I might as well dye my water white. Yes that is white water labeled 1% milk. You might be asking yourself "why would this be of any interest to me?" Well its probably not. But for you who know me best, I swore I would never buy it. Well I'm a liar and after jumping on the scale last week I've decided we need to get "healthy". Starting with reduced fat milk, it is literally sitting in my fridge not being drank. It all really started when we took a mini vacation down to Lake Powell for Memorial Day weekend. We went with some great friends and had a blast! We were outside the entire time, no t.v., no internet, no distractions. It felt so good to get fresh air and go on walks and to interact more. So I've been trying really hard to change some eating habits and work out a little more, okay a lot more.

Graid is such a water baby he litteraly tried jumping off the boat at full speed to swim. He did so good I don't know very many babies that would spend a whole weekend on a boat with out crying..

Oh and it was our 2nd Anniversary on May 30th! We decided that Lake Powell was a perfect present to each other. Just my luck we didn't get one picture together on our Anniversary!

This is turning out to be such a long post, but I have to end on a good note and I still want to update all of you on G-Money, since its been 2 months since I last blogged! Well our little parrot is way to smart for his 19 month old britches! He repeats everything we say, he has almost everyones name down pact that we know. He knows all of his animals, almost all of his colors, and he can count to 3. He loves to read books, ride in his car, throw balls to the dogs, watch the dreaded Caillou on PBS, making messes and of course he wouldn't be my son with out loving "cycles"! When he gets hurt he says "I sorry" so cute, right? He introduces hims self as "I smart", "I cute", and "I cool dude". This little guy totally cracks me up! He is also in his big boy bed (picture shown below). I got some stuff at Pottery Barn, some at Ikea, some I already had lying around or I made (p.s.the bed used to be oak!). He's done pretty good for the most part . He lays down in it and says "I sleep" (noticing a pattern here?) and calls for his "silkent" translation "silky" and "blanket" mixed, he decided his "silky" was no longer a "silky". I just don't know if I can get used to waking up to him staring at me in the morning.

Big Boy Bunk Bed

I turned the big 21 last month. Here are the beautiful flowers with Irises from Brett that he sent to work, he also got me my favorite cake and ice cream and told me I could buy a camera haven't found one I love yet.

My first Drink so not worth the $8 at P.F. Changs. If I'm going to pay $8 for a drink I expect to be wheeled out of the restaurant.

Lately the whole sleeping arrangement at my house has been a little screwy! Graidy wan'ts to sleep in our "nigh nigh" (our bed). He doesn't care if we aren't in the bed with him, he doesn't care if the t.v. is on, he doesn't care if he has his silky, he just wants to be in our big bed. This is all very strange to me for the simple fact that we've never let him sleep with us, or ever really nap in our bed. Whenever I start to pick him up to put him in he literally shakes with excitement! It has become such a fight at night that we have been putting him into our bed letting him fall asleep then we move him into his crib, 50% of the time he wakes up instantly and realizes he is in his crib and wont go back to sleep, we've rocked him for 1 1/2 hours before, it doesn't work!

So my solution is a big boy bed! Brett's mom had some nice bunk beds we decided to take off of her hands, we are having them painted black to match his dresser, decor, etc. Last but not least I finally placed an order to Pottery Barn for this quilt and shams! I've been eying these for months! I love the idea of the whole Dr. Seuss theme, but I think I'm going to just keep it with the Dick and Jane decor. It all seems to match any ways...

P.S. Brett doesn't know it yet but, once Graidy goes to a big boy bed, it's time to start filling the crib again.

P.P.S. I got my wisdom teeth on Tuesday, awful! It has taken me longer to recoup from this than it did from giving birth! Bretty Boo has been a champ and has pampered me every day with out complaint! I love him so much!

why can't I just be normal?

"Why can't you just be normal, like every body else?" Brett said as he kneaded homemade fondant for the cake I was making. So this comment really hurt my feelings at first, because I had pored my heart and soul into Graidy's 1st birthday party.

I like, scratch that, love to make things extravagant and special, I want people to remember. Maybe I'm a perfectionist, maybe I overindulge in most things, maybe when I get things in my head I just can't let them go. I just love the fact that my mom has taught me so many wonderful skills. With just about everything that I see in a craft store or boutique I look at I can say "I can make that." (maybe not as good, but I can still make it).

Side Note: I wish, wish, wish that we owned our house! I have so many ideas running through my head at all times about what I would do design wise with a house... Maybe this summer, maybe not.

Back to the comment and letting things go, I just couldn't let that comment go! Don't get me wrong, I know he is just a silly boy that didn't want to help me knead pounds of fondant. Which I could have bought, but it is cheaper to make. But finally after 6 months, I realized that I get a lot of good complements and hype over a my projects and there are some people that do appreciate my amplified, embellished, dramatic, life. (Including my husband!)

Dick and Jane Nursery:

I just love antiques, and I didn't want to do just any kind of nursery. It seems to be a bit drab to do sports or a zoo theme these days. So Dick and Jane it was! You really have to see it in person to appreciate it, I wish we weren't in a rental so I could change some wall colors!

My Bedroom:

This is just a preview, the best is yet to come! We did a complete over hall on our room, but I am still in the process of re-finishing my night stand. have I told you lately that I love IKEA!?

Bathroom:

I finally bought everything for my bathroom, piece by piece. Its almost too bright. I already want to change it, I found one much better at Target :(

Laundry:

Most of you should know where we live, if you don't its a small little rental house and my laundry is in my kitchen. Ugh... So I decided to spruce things up. Inspired by my cousins friend over at Lanier Creations.

This and That:

Have you heard about Crafters Corner in American Fork? So much fun! They have a bunch of projects and kits wood and metal. You pay a $5 class fee and get to use all of their materials (paint, paper, ribbon, etc.) I made these there.

I've been doing a lot of digital scrapbooking lately. Here is a banner I made for my mom's blog. I plan to show more, its not like I don't brag about my little guy enough!

So I'm wondering where Graidy heard grunting noises and was smart enough to associate those noises with poop (Daddy, maybe? Never, Mommy!). I really don't think we give these kiddos credit for how smart they really are or how much they really are watching us...

5 Things That Monster Does to Crack Me Up:

1. Grunts when people say the word poop.

2. Smells his own feet when his shoes are taken off and says "stinky".

3. Brushes his own teeth every morning but right before we take the tooth brush away he pretends to gag.

4. When told to tell Daddy "night night" he runs gives an open mouth kiss and runs for his room.

5. When shopping with Grammy and Mommy grabbing items and saying "Cute" or "Cool".

We really need to watch what we say and do around this little guy his my little parrot right now! He maybe a parrot but, we defiantly don't want him talking like a sailor.

Happy Easter!

My friend Jennie and I took Graidy to see the "Bunny Bunny" at the mall a couple days before Easter, Graid almost couldn't wait his turn to see the "Bunny Bunny" but as soon as it was time to sit on his lap, Graidy just wanted to get down. Who wants a freaky bunny holding them any ways, right?

We colored eggs one night and G thought they were balls, needless to say eggs were thrown all over my kitchen. We bought a really cute monster egg kit this year, it came with the coloring, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, etc. When we finished coloring the eggs it was way past Graiden's bed time and so we figured we would decorate the eggs the next day.This where my little faux pas this holiday came in, it totally didn't even cross my mind to put the eggs in the fridge, what a dummy right?? My kitchen stunk so bad, there wasn't enough Scenty candles and Febreeze to cover it up!

One word: Rotten!

Easter was really relaxing this year since I am the designated "B" in the family and said I'm not traveling on holidays any more. It is just to hard! We have 4 sets of parents, with 4 houses, in 4 places, with a 1 year old. No thanks!

New rule: We are only going to ONE place on holidays and no we are NOT taking turns as to which place we go. Do I sound stuck up yet? We will make a decision together as to whose house we are going to based on what we feel like! If the others aren't offended by my bitchiness at this point they are more than welcome to come see the little monster at our place. I put this rule into affect before we told anyone the new rule. My plan worked, and it was so, so, so, nice!

Our Easter went like this...

So Brett's Mom and Grandma came over on Saturday and gave Graid a basket with some toys and candy. Sunday Graidy woke up and got his basket, along with a little play kitchen, clothes, bowling set, movie, candy, and his favorite new golf set! Then my Dad and Step Mom came over and gave him a yummy marshmallow chocolate egg with is name on it (I wish I got a picture before dad devowerd it!). Bretts Dad then came over with an other basket of goodies. Last but not least we headed the 2 blocks to my Mom's house for dinner and an Easter egg hunt with Gray's cousins.

We'll... That is what I have been telling everyone that asks the question:
"What happened to his face?!"

We'll what happened to Gray's face is he decided to kiss the cement yesterday afternoon. It just about broke our hearts, as most know parents defiantly get way more worked up when our kids get hurt, than the kid does. He really didn't seem to care once we got him his "nigh nigh" (blanket) and a sippy. I still gave my self the "Worst Mother in the World" award for the day. Poor guy... We'll Happy Saint Patty's Day any way!

P.s. I know I often say "post coming soon" about things/ideas and I haven't gotten around to posting about those things/ideas soon. But I promise I'm posting some of my fun projects that I've finally finished soon.

I know I'm a little crazy but I had his pictures taken every 3 months, in my defense you really can tell how much he changed each time! No I don't expect you to watch the whole slide, but I've been wanting to get these up for a while...

Little side note: G has been climbing in and on everything, a few of his favorite choices are his bassinet (you may ask why he still has a bassinet, but I'm posting pictures of his nursery soon and they will explain all), rocking chair, his bottom dresser drawer, and so on and so forth, he thinks its okay if he does this if he automatically says "Ought Oh" followed by "Nigh Nigh" and lays down. He cracks me up!

3. An amazing night stay up in Salt Lake.

Hotel room at The Little America Hotel, thanks to Brett's dad. We saw The Wicked Wizard of Ahhs at the Off Broadway Theater (I highly recommend), Dinner at Sapa (A mix of Indian and Thai food, scrumptious!), yummy breakfast at the hotel, and a 1 hour couples massage. That right there was more than the Doctor ordered and more that I needed.

5. Brett never, never, never, never will let me go to IKEA. So I decided to victimize him, because I knew he would let me, its Valentines Day for hells sake! We went in for a train set for Graidy that I've had my eye on for a while and new pillows. We came out with the cute train set, a push toy, and a WHOLE new bed room set (pictures coming soon). So now I know why he doesn't let me go in stores like that. Its like plopping a recovering alcoholic in a bar. 3 hours later we spent an unmentionable amount of money and got free dinner for Graidy.

We haven't given it to him yet since its Valentines tomorrow not today. I think he'll be excited when he wakes up tomorrow. Maybe heart shaped pancakes are in store too!

Over all I had the most amazing time, we didn't need to buy or do any of the things that Valentines gave us the excuse to buy or do. I am so madly in love with these boys, but I'm going to admit it, sometimes a ring, sunglasses, and a train set is what it takes to make us realize what we mean to each other, so thank heavens for excuses. I really have never had a "love", for this dreaded holiday for most. But I can say I loved and was loved this Valentines.

I've been trying to save money where ever I can Brett gets embarrassed of my coupon tendencies. Haha. I literally have a coupon every where we go! But I want to save more! A bunch of people in my family do this and I just want to learn the system and learn how to save more!

What Did I Do Today?

Today I left some dishes dirty
The bed got made around 3:30
The diapers soaked a little longer,
The odor grew a little stronger.
The crumbs I spilled the day before
Are staring at me from the floor.
The fingerprints there on the wall
will likely be there still next fall.
The dirty streaks on those windowpanes
will still be there next time it rains.
Shame on you, you sit and say,
Just what did you do today?
I held a baby till he slept,
I held a toddler while he wept.
I played a game of hide and seek,
I squeezed a toy so it would squeak.
I pulled a wagon, sang a song,
Taught a child right from wrong.
What did I do this whole day through?
Not much that shows, I guess that's true.
Unless you think that what I've done
Might be important to someone
with dark brown eyes and soft brown hair.
If that is true... I've done my share.

Merry Christmas

Christmas was so weird this year, it just didn't feel like Christmas at all. Graidy was almost up to par but didn't care for any of his gifts. I really just think people this year don't have the money they usually do and can't do what they want to do for Christmas. This was the case for me, I still felt like we spent a butt load, but I didn't get as creative with my gifts as I usually do. Maybe I should chalk this up to just be a "I'm a mom now and I don't have time for that craft crap!" I thought this winter I would have a lot more time to do school work, catch up on Graiden's scrap book, get my house clean, and maybe just maybe read a book. My best friend Jenalee said it best "I think timing is slowly going faster as the days go by."

Okay okay I'll get off of my soap box and talk about the great things on Christmas! We all of course got clothes, shoes, jammies, toys, etc. We put a cap on Christmas this year as usual, but of course that cap got bigger and bigger ("How in the hell did you find an XBOX for under $15?" name that movie!), we usually say 1/2 we get to pick out ourselves and the other 1/2 is a surprise! All of Graid's stuff was a surprise (surprise surprise) , but he did get some handmade stuff from mom, and a new heavy metal shop T from dad, and our tradition of getting a book with a stuffed character to match this year it was "If You Give a Moose a Muffin". Brett got me my much needed external hard drive (wahoo!) and a $10 bag of my favorite candies from Mrs. Cavanaughs, and I got him a Guitar (surprise story below), then of course we made the rounds. I love my family so much, even though I think you should get along and laugh every day of the year, it just doesn't work out that way, but it is amazing how on Christmas how the light in everyone just comes out, and we can all love and be loved. I just love my little family I don't know what I would do with out my boys, I've never felt so much love...

For New Years this year we went up to Salt Lake City to EVE 2010! It was a blast, we rented a hotel room with my cousin Samantha her boyfriend Jared, and my sister Chelsey and her boyfriend Chad. It was way cool there were a bunch of different events all around down town Salt Lake, and we just jumped on Trax and went to all of them. One of the places they had a battle of the bands which was a bunch of tribute bands, our favorite was the KISS tribute band, we even got our pictures taken with "Paul", "Peter", "Ace" and "Gene"!

2010 baby and never looking back! 2009 was bittersweet a lot happened some good some bad, this is the first year that I've felt really excited to start over, get a fresh start.

10 things I want to accomplish in 2010:
Buy a house.
Finish school.
Finish scrapbooks.
Loose weight and exercise more.
Take a vacation.
Read more books.
Finish craft projects.
Learn more on the guitar.
Enjoy life.
Maybe, just maybe add to the farm.
(maybe we'll get a pouch, or maybe I'll get an even bigger pouch.)

This is how I've been feeling this whole week...

And now if you don't know why just read my previous post. Today has been such a great Christmas Eve Graidy is finally acting like our normal Little Monster and is back to terrorizing our small house, I never thought this would be so exciting! I got to go to lunch and shopping with my little sister Chelsey (she's been away for college in Virgina). I've missed her so much and was just happy to get out of our cave! Tonight we are going to watch all of the great Christmas movies especially my 2 favorites How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Christmas Story. Then we will open our Christmas Eve present (Jammies who would have guessed, right?).

Cute story: So I was at Target last week scooping out all of the Christmas decor that I will be buying the day after Christmas when everything is 75% off, when I saw a cute little snow globe that had a Santa Clause on it.

K: Graidy this is Santa.
G: Santa? (in a sweet questioning voice).

Then as we were strollin along he saw another snow globe which did not have a Santa on it.

G: Santa Santa Santa! (In his screaming voice).
K: Thats right Gray!

So now my very smart 13 month old thinks snow globes are Santa. Smart little bugger.

I guess I won't be canceling Christmas after all...
